A Place For My Stuff

I really do have skeletons in my closet!

George Carlin once had a very successful comedy routine based on the premise of where to put all the stuff we acquire in our lives.
"Actually this is just a place for my stuff, ya know? That's all, a little place for my stuff. That's all I want, that's all you need in life, is a little place for your stuff, ya know? I can see it on your table, every body's got a little place for their stuff. This is my stuff, that's your stuff, that'll be his stuff over there. That's all you need in life, a little place for your stuff. That's all your house is: a place to keep your stuff. If you didn't have so much stuff, you wouldn't need a house. You could just walk around all the time. A house is just a pile of stuff with a cover on it."
While this is a humorous way of looking at the obviousness of it all there in lies the problem. As we acquire more props, and sets we quickly lose our "normal" homes to our haunt. In the span of several months prior to Halloween, I annually take all my patio furniture, my living room furnishings, and dining room furnishings to storage. My garage and all its contents go to storage as well. conversely, 90% of my haunt accoutrement's come out of storage and come to live with me for 5-6 months. Finding a place for my stuff and my haunt stuff is, at this point solved by renting a 10x20 storage garage, utilizing rafter space in the garage, using back side yard space, and a closet under my staircase. I won't see my leather couches again until Thanksgiving.

Hey, at least I admit that I have skeletons in my closet!

Are you sure you want to be a home haunter?
